Kate knows her mom rocks!
Should we make "My Mom Rocks" shirts
to sell on the JQR site?
When I found out that I was going to be part of the Mamapalooza Festival
in SF, I thought, should I make some t-shirts to sell at the show? Why
not? So, we made 30 or so shirts in children's sizes and they blew out
the door. Well, that was a live event, the energy level was high, kids
were running around, it was right around Mother's Day, etc. I am curious
as to whether you think they would sell on my site, to the likes of
you, my fans?
Drop me an e-mail and let us know. Have any design ideas you'd like
to share? Color suggestion? 100% cotton? Polyblend? Let me know by clicking

Mamapalooza Wrap-Up
Kate
and I were live on KTVU Channel 2 evening news, the KFOX
#1 San Jose Morning Show with Greg Kihn, and ABC's KGO Radio
in San Francisco last month in support of Mamapalooza 2005. The San Francisco
debut Mamapalooza shows at Slims and The Little Fox were a ton of
fun, and I want to thank all of you who helped make the shows a success.
Even
Mayor Newsom came on board and officially declared May 14th "Moms
Who Rock" day in SF in support of Mamapalooza.
Extra special thanks to EL Street Team volunteers: Christina Borenstadt,
Gina Musser, Susan Shumway, Beth Silbaugh, and Molly Tirpak-Sterkel. I
also was honored to join the line-up of incredibly talented mamas at our
flagship event in New York City. Plus, the trip back east gave me a chance
to see so many other friends and fans at performances in Massachusetts,
NYC, and Philadelphia. Hope to see you all again when I'm passing back
through in September.

Hello Friends!
New Reviews
"A
country-rock gem . . . The writing [on Brand New Day] is exemplary,
and Lord puts her songs across with both vigor and sensitivity. It's very
rare to put on a disc and hear song after song that you know you'd be
happy to listen to repeatedly, but Emily Lord has made one . . . this
batch of songs proclaims Emily Lord as an artist to watch." -
Jon Sobel, Blog Critics.org
"Songs
that are truly inspired always stand out and Lord has a slew of them on
this disc. From the opening track, "One Day at a Time," to the
cover of "Give a Little Bit," Lord pieces together a work of
art that is worthy of a significant audience." -
The Springfield Republican
"What
Lord is into is an artistic blending of heartfelt emotion. It's carried
by an assortment of lyrically honest tunes, centered firmly on the possibilities
and responsibilities of being a modern day woman. With her rich Americana-tinged
vocal, a band offering presence without shadowing the intended sentiments,
and tunes laced with soft-pop and country toning, well, baby Kate has
a mother of recognizable talent . . .There's no doubt: Lord can sing.
She can touch you with her lyrics. But to achieve that standard, she writes
incredibly well . . . With baby Kate's inspiration, a stack of thoughtful
tunes and a voice that's both grit and polish, Emily Lord has delivered
in every sense of the word. It's said a mother's work is never done. I'm
hoping they're right. I'm waiting on a new arrival - the next album."
